Magnesium medium used for accumulation of salmonellas, due to their ability to grow in the presence of magnesium chloride in relatively high concentrations. During cultivation (37 ° C, 24 hours) number of viable cells opponent microflora sharply decreases and increases respectively of Salmonella. Inhibitors of the medium are magnesium chloride and malachite green.
